Crackle makes noise
TiVO has reported that the most re-watched commercial shown during the Super Bowl was a spot reuniting Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander. It was an except from Seinfeld’s web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” which has had over 25 million views online. It runs on the streaming platform Crackle which is owned by Sony.
I found it interesting that broadcast media was being used to promote television content online, rather than the reverse. This indicates the the progress online platforms are making and the level of marketing support they are now receiving.
Crackle, available in Australia but yet to arrive in NZ, offers “hundreds of movies, thousands of TV episodes and an extensive collection of anime for free”.
